All athletes, from age groupers through to elites, encounter plateaus in performance. Very few have the perspective or the capacity to objectively analyse their own training and race preparation, particularly if what is really required is new stimulus. For those athletes driven to perform, make sacrifices and willing to embrace the latest techniques that sports science can offer, this option is for you.
Following in-depth consultation with the athlete covering training and performance history, goals, limiters, equipment and strategy, we will put together a specific performance plan in which we develop an effective athlete ‘dashboard’ with key metrics and indices that objectively monitor overall training status.
Periodized Training Prescriptions
For optimal performance, training loads should be structured in such a way that the key components of fitness – aerobic metabolism, anaerobic capacity, muscle endurance and so on – which underpin the physiological demands of the athlete’s chosen sport, are honed and brought to a peak at the correct time. Training plans will be both dynamic and responsive to individual needs and constraints. We understand and accommodate the fact that the real world is apt to get in the way of the best laid plans from time to time.
Athlete Contact & Interaction
The key to getting the best out of the coach/athlete relationship is communication. That is why I only coach a small number of athletes at any given time. This way I am able to deliver a highly personalised, bespoke service. We will use whatever means of communication possible – phone, email, text, skype, and Training Peaks message board. No maximum calls or emails per week and other such nonsense. We are here for you. Period.
